Paul Allen is interested in photographs as a form of academic knowledge and in particular, those which contribute to sociological debate regarding the urban social. The work collected here represents some of the self initiated projects produced over 20 years of image making.
He is a lecturer of photographic theory and practice at the Arts University College at Bournemouth. He studied documentary photography (doc phot) at Newport and visual sociology at Goldsmiths College. In his spare time he drums badly, playing mostly rock and improv.
